Nutritional Relationships
TransBareAll as an organisation is rooted in the principles of body positivity, sex and intimacy, and emotional well-being. So our next retreat is going to focus on our wellbeing and will explore “Nutritional relationships”
3rd – 5th November 2023
Hathersage, Derbyshire
Bookings go live at 7pm on Friday 8th September 2023
In this weekend we take a look at our relationships with food and nutrition. Often as trans people we have interesting relationships with food. As society often judges our bodies, and fat shaming is rife, we can struggle with body shame - despite our inclusive politics. Food is something we can control and we may resourcefully turn to food for solace, but not sticking to our rules can then promote anxiety. We’re going to take a tender and sensitive look at our relationships with food and eating, and explore ideas around how to reduce distress, hold conflicted feelings, and nourish ourselves.
It is open to anyone who self-identifies as being on the trans spectrum or is questioning their gender – eg. trans masculine, trans feminine, trans man, trans woman, FTM, MTF, transgender man, transgender woman, transsexual man, transsexual woman, man with a trans history, woman with trans history – and non-binary / genderqueer & agender people.
Arrival for the weekend is from 4pm onwards on the Friday with dinner being served at around 7-7.30pm.
Departure for the weekend is around 12.30-1.30pm on the Sunday, sandwiches are available to make for your journey home.
